We are happy to say that as little and humble as we are, work that was recently published here has made its way into one of the most prestigious literary annuals: The Pushcart Prize XL: Best of the Small Presses, scheduled for release in November. The piece is a poem by Sue Ellen Thompson titled "My Father's Laundry," which appeared in our Winter 2015 issue. We want to wish our sincere thanks to Sue Ellen, as well as Bill Henderson and the Pushcart staff for objectively choosing the work and recognizing the online medium of literary publishing.
In other wonderful news, we're proud to learn that Alex Vidiani, who recently worked as an intern here, has won the largest student literary award in the country—Washington College's Sophie Kerr Prize of approximately sixty-three thousand dollars. Alex had contributed a book review to our Fall 2014 issue, helped in the poetry review process for two issues, and guest-edited our Twitter site for a time. We wish him the best of luck.
We hope you enjoy this Summer 2015 issue of Summerset and, once again, want to thank all those who contributed, submitted, and read our magazine. Drop us a note and let us know what you think about the content we put out there each quarter. We'd love to hear from you.
