September 24, 2025 Kwoya Fagin Maples' second full-length poetry collection, titled Long Eye, will be published next year at Hub City Press. Three poems in the book originally appeared in our Spring 2019 issue. The collection explores the intersections of identity and relationships. As a Black woman, mother, and thinker, Kwoya weaves together science, poetry, and mythology to depict her experience. The poems navigate the tapestry of parenthood, writing, and the Atlantic waters of the South Carolina Lowcountry, where the sea and its creatures serve as guides for survival and transformation. Joseph Levens (Editor) is having his first short story collection published in the summer of 2026 by Serving House Books / Broken Tribe Press. Titled Unearthed: Stories, the book includes sixteen short works of fiction that have appeared in literary journals such as Gettysburg Review, AGNI, Zone 3, Cream City Review, Sou'wester, and others throughout the years. |
